We've prepared a presentation you can watch from home!

(Relax, make some popcorn and enjoy!)

The Board of the Highlands Ranch Historical Society wishes to continue exercising appropriate caution in light of the expanding impacts of the Coronavirus in Colorado.

COVID-19 has certainly changed our lives and not in the way we would like to see. In concern for the health of our members and guests, the Highlands Ranch Historical Society, canceled the program for March 16th at the Highlands Ranch Mansion. Because of the exceptional interest in the historical presentation, we will be rescheduling that program for a later date.

On March 25 the Governor of Colorado issued an Executive Order directing all Coloradans to stay at home with few exceptions through April 11th. Recently the Governor has now updated his original Executive Order to the date of April 30th. In order to comply with that Order, the Historical Society’s Board of Directors is also canceling the April 20th Program.

However, we know that since getting out and partaking in the things we have enjoyed are not currently available, the Board has decided to take advantage of technology and bring the program to you.

With the creative skill of our Leadership Team Member, Mark Stevenson, who handles Special Projects, this month’s program is only a click away. Mark, through our Oral Histories series, has interviewed many of the original developers of Highlands Ranch. He was able to select portions of these interviews to create a presentation of Highlands Ranch’s early beginnings, told by the people that did the planning and made the decisions. Unfortunately, though, Mark was unable to figure out how to also deliver cookies and beverages the same way. You will have to handle that yourselves.

Now without having to worry about social distancing, click the following red link, sit back and enjoy this month’s program entitled, “Highlands Ranch, The First Decade”.
