High Line Canal
Highlands Ranch Historical Society hosts Suzanna Fry Jones and Holly Geist
presenting High Line Canal: Past, Present and Future!
Join us for a presentation on the past, present and future of the High Line Canal. Holly, of Denver Water, will highlight the Canal’s important role in history and the story of water in the West.
Holly will be mentioning the current water situation in HR and will be providing the history of the Highline Canal.
Suzanna, of The High Line Canal Conservancy, will preview the results of the recently completed visionary and collaborative plan. The Conservancy, along with its partners Denver Water and the 11 communities adjacent to the Canal, has completed this three-year comprehensive planning effort. It lays out clear guidance for re-purposing the historic Canal, improving the health of people and the environment, and increasing accessibility and enjoyment for generations to come.
As the future for the historic Canal continues to evolve, the nonprofit High Line Canal Conservancy has been proactively planning for protections and enhancements of the corridor.
Also, hear about the exciting programs the Conservancy has for 2019.
