Denver Indian Center and Mountain View Young Marines
The Highlands Ranch Historical Society presented a program by the Denver Indian Center, a donor-supported organization offering educational services and an award-winning workforce and training program. Attendees enjoyed a general overview of American Indian History & Colorado Native History
Ms. Savannah Francis, Denver Indian Princess, shared how she became the princess and her role as Princess.
The Youth Dance group demonstrated Pow-wow dances accompanied by a drummer/singer. A narrator provided an explanation of each dance.
The HRHS Audience learned a few Lakota words and participated in a social round dance.
The Mountain View Young Marines described their annual participationon the Navaho Reservation in Arizona.
Indian Artifacts Found in Highlands Ranch were on displayed.
